Best Newborn Photoshoot Advice
We asked two newborn photographers what they recommend a family prepares for a successful newborn photoshoot and here is what they answered:
Clare Evans – Edinburgh Newborn Photographer
“I often get asked this by clients, but I find for a newborn shoot, it’s best to keep things simple. Stick to your usual routine and just ensure the baby when they are hungry. The only thing I ask is when you arrive, have the baby dressed in a loose baby grow to make undressing them easier without waking them up. The goal is to capture the natural essence of the newborn, so minimal preparation is needed to ensure a relaxed and authentic session.”
Joanna Jensen – Calgary Maternity, Family and Newborn Photographer
“My best recommendation is to pre-plan outfits for the family before the baby is born so that you have lots of time to be prepared and get a good idea of the exact look and feel that you’re going for. I also send all of my clients a newborn guide and a pre-selection gallery so that they get a good idea of my photography work and can make some decisions on colour and style prior to coming for the newborn photoshoot”
